Adoption Fees

When you get a rescued Labrador Retriever from CMLRN, you will get a healthy and happy dog that is up to date (UTD) on all shots, free from intestinal parasites, be heartworm negative and on prevenative (if applicable) and will be altered (neutered or spayed unless under 6 months old, or if other circumstances prevent it). Your dog will also come with all vet records, health certificates, a new collar and leash, all tags (rabies) and unconditional love for you and your family. We will also provide your dog with a starter bag of the food we are feeding currently so that you can transition into new food if you opt not to feed our choice of food.

Please note, adoption fees will vary depending on the dog and any required vet work needed at the time we initially aquire the dog. But generally, our fees will be as follows:

Puppies under 6 months (price does not include $75-$100 refundable spay/neuter deposit) $125-$275
Adult Dogs (over 6 months of age) $175-$225
Previously altered dogs (over 6 months of age) $125-$175

As stated above, these fees will fluxuate depending on the initial health of the dog upon intake into our program.

Puppies will generally be more expensive as they will need to be dewormed and vaccinated more than one time. Female dogs cost more to get altered as the procedure is inter-muscular and requires more recovery time generally.

When you take a dog on a spay/neuter contract, you must perform the surgery by our deadline at YOUR OWN EXPENSE. The rescue does not consider the cost of spaying a dog under contract as part of the adoption fee. The adoption fee is separate and not a part of the altering fee. You may have the dog altered at your own vet.

Dogs that generally get adopted out on a spay/nueter contract are dogs that are under 6 months old or have some other medical issue that requires a delay in altering the dog at the time they are in foster care.

You may be saying, "but I can buy a Purebred dog for that much." While this may be true you have to remember this: when you buy a dog from a breeder (and it will be a back yard breeder, not a reputable or knowlegable one), you are only purchasing the dog. You then need to go ahead and schedule and pay for all of the shots, licenses, and neutering or spaying procedures which can easily cost you an additional $300 to $500 dollars. All of these costs are already figured into our entire adoption fee.
